Sharing one device or
console between multiple computers Sharing one computer with multiple devices or

with multiple computers
Cables: For the manual switches, to connect between the computer and the
switchbox, Use M1337, or for longer lengths, use M1327. The monitor should be able to plug into the
switch. If an extension is needed, use M1339, or for
longer lengths, use M1329. The electronic switch
would use the M1339 or M1329 for all connections.

 Sharing one parallel printer with
multiple computers (without a network) Please note: For
switches that are NOT IEEE1284 compliant, the IEEE1284 interface would need to
be disabled on the printer. Manual switches will not support the IEEE1284
interface. Only certain auto switches support the interface. - Using
DB25s Cables:
To connect between the computer and the switchbox, use M2131. Then to connect from the switchhbox to the
printer, use M2256.
- Alternative
configuration Using CN36s Cables:
To connect between the computer and the switchbox, use M2256, or for longer lengths, use ADP3230 and L0505 (the ADP3230 is not IEEE1284 Compliant). Then to connect
from the switchbox to the printer, use M2200.
- Alternative configuration for using Parallel printer cables all
around Cables: The M2256 is
used from computer to switch and from switch to printer. For longer distances,
use ADP3230 and L0505
(the ADP3230 is not IEEE1284 Compliant).

Sharing one serial (RS232) device with
multiple computers Switches with all DB25
Females Cables:
For Manual switches, to connect between the computer and the switchbox, use M1371 (or M2132 if the
computer has a DB25 serial port). Then if connecting to a Modem or other DCE
configured device, use M2131, or for a serial printer
or other DTE configured device, use M2161. Since not
all auto switches are designed the same, please click on the auto switch and
see what cables it uses on its information page.
 Sharing USB devices with multiple
computers If multiple
computers are networked through Cat 5 or RJ45 cables, our USB servers would
allow you to share USB peripherals.Cables: The M2404 is used from computer to manual or electronic
switch and from switch or server to peripherals. For longer distances, add the
USB extender, part number ADP31802-16 or ADP31802-40. Our ADP3184 can be also used to extend a USB signal
through a Cat 5 cable.
 Sharing multiple monitors
with one computer Splitters can be used to broadcast the VGA to
multiple monitors simultaneously, or a switch box could be used to display one
monitor at a time. Cables: To connect between the
computer and the switchbox, use M2131. Then to
connect from the switchbox to the printer, use M2256,
or for longer distances, use ADP3230 and L0505 (the ADP3230 is not
IEEE1284 Compliant).

 Sharing multiple printers with one

with all DB25 Females Cables:

Sharing multiple USB devices with one
computer A switchbox is only needed when USB devices need to be
isolated; otherwise USB hubs will allow multiple USB
devices to work to one computer. Cables:
The M2404 is used from computer to switch and from
switch to peripherals. For longer distances, add the USB extender, part number
ADP31802-16. Our ADP3184 can be also used to extend a USB signal
through a Cat 5 cable.
